SCWN Monthly Meeting – June 2024

This June meeting will offer a visit to the new bridge over Salt Creek in Elk Grove Village. The old bridge spanned only the creek and left the approaches at each end under water after heavy rains. The new bridge includes an extra span which reaches across not only the creek, but also the flood plain area at each end of the bridge it more useful after rain events.

Meet at the home of SCWN president Nick Nikola,
see the new bridge, and join our June meeting.

Creek Cleanup - Elk Grove Village 2024

The 30th annual spring cleanup will be held Saturday, June 3rd.  Walk along the creek and pick up some trash or actually get in the water and clean up by pulling out things that do not belong.  Everyone is welcome — it's fun and it's free.  Folks with waders and canoes are especially needed.

Gather at 9:00 a.m. in the Elk Grove High School parking lot along the creek where you will be provided with garbage bags, gloves, and pick up sticks.  Dress for the weather and possible muddy conditions.
