This special meeting features a special presentation concerning residential use of solar energy. John Almer and Ann Lee focus our attention on the use of residential solar energy and the status of related pending legislation in Illinois. The meeting will be held in the Lower Level Community Room of the La Grange Park Public Library. Use the elevator to the right as you enter the lobby or the stairs directly beyond the checkout desk. The presentations will begin at 7:00 pm.
The subject, Residential Use of Solar Power, is presented by John Almer of LaGrange Park. John is a member of Illinois Solar Energy Association and will detail available local and federal subsidies and credits as well as excess power sell back opportunities for home owners. Solar power is implemented at his home and he will report on home installation mechanics, startup costs, and last year’s actual savings.
In a related topic, and based on a state level inquiry, Ann Lee of LaGrange Park will report on the status of the Illinois Solar for All program and the legislative reaction to Illinois resolutions HR 234 and SR 353. These bills would protect previously collected funds intended to promote solar installations and jobs for disadvantaged individuals and would prevent diverting these funds to other uses.
